Connacht travel to Beziers for their Round 1 first leg match with coach Michael Bradley relishing the "fresh" challenge of facing French opposition.
"It is great to be playing a French side because, while the Celtic League provides us with plenty of intense games, the PARKER PEN CHALLENGE CUP means we will be up against fresh opposition and a fresh challenge. We are really looking forward to the match," he said.
"We had Beziers looked at last weekend so we will be going through the tape this week but we have been told that they are strong up front and quite a physical side - much as we expected.
"And, make no mistake, there are plenty of top quality sides in the tournament. We are looking no further than Sunday's match but if we do get past Beziers then we would be on course to play Pau and then London Irish.
"We are taking the PARKER PEN CHALLENGE CUP very seriously, we want to go as far as possible in the tournament."
"Playing away from home makes it a difficult game for us and we are under no illusions about the task ahead of us on Sunday afternoon.
"We have got a few injury concerns - we are waiting to hear from prop Warren O'Kelly in particular - and lock Andrew Farley will be out for a month after having a groin operation."
