NO PLACE LIKE HOME FOR LEICESTER
Heineken Cup holders Leicester Tigers will play their quarter-final against Munster on Sunday, 13 April, at their Welford Road fortress - and have not been tempted into switching the mouth-watering tie to a bigger capacity stadium.
The clash is a repeat of last season's thrilling final, which Leicester won 15-9, and the defending champions today (Tuesday) announced they would not be moving a match that is set to attract a huge BBC Sunday Grandstand audience.
"We can confirm that the Heineken Cup quarter-final between Leicester Tigers and Munster will take place at Welford Road," said Chairman Peter Tom following the club's monthly board meeting.
Welford Road has a capacity of just over 16,800 and tickets are sure to become like gold dust in the countdown to the clash of the English and Irish giants.
The confirmed dates, kick-off times (all LOCAL time) and television coverage of the Heineken Cup quarter-finals are:
FRIDAY 11 APRIL
1930 Llanelli v Perpignan
SATURDAY 12 APRIL
1445 Toulouse v Northampton Saints FR2 / British Eurosport
1530 Leinster Lions v Biarritz Olympique FR2 / RTE
SUNDAY 13 APRIL
1600 Leicester Tigers v Munster BBC Sunday Grandstand / RTE
The quarter-final venues will be announced in the coming weeks.
