Toulouse flanker Trevor Brennan joked: 'It's a great draw for us, and for me personally - I'm looking forward to a proper pint in Ireland in May!'
And there is the chance for a French invasion of Dublin on May 24, with Biarritz, Toulouse and Perpignan all still in the tournament, and the draw allowing for an all French final.
Llanelli will find themselves with another away semi-final if they beat Perpignan, but coach Gareth Jenkins is not taking his side's progression for granted.
"We have home advantage in the quarter-final, and we have to make sure we use that advantage.
"Friday nights have really taken off at Strady Park, we are getting great crowds for Heineken Cup games and the atmosphere definitely helps.
"But you have to respect everyone in this tournament. It's a great tournament that has really taken off," said Jenkins.
Should Northampton topple Toulouse in the quarter-final then they face the winners of the Leicester v Munster match.
Northampton captain John Leslie said: "If we want to be realistic challengers for silverware this season we are going to have be work on our consistency."
"We are looking forward to going to Toulouse - it's a hotbed of rugby. The fans will enjoy the wine and the food and hopefully a good game of rugby."
