"We have done the hardest part," a relieved Mont de Marsan manager Jean-Bernard Pu Plantier said after a narrow away victory over Italian side Petrarca.
"We've won our away quarter-final, but we have to consolidate that with a win this weekend and the clocks will go back to zero as we only have a one-point advantage over Petrarca who are a very solid and well-organised team.
"We were missing three or four players on Saturday so we will be boosted by the returns of our captain and scrum-half Nicolas Morlaes who was suffering from flu, as well as prop Philippe Tapie and hooker Laurent Dehez who were out with injuries.
"We will be taking the match very seriously and hopefully some home support will help take us into the semi-finals of this competition.
"Our objective is to go all the way to the final in the PARKER PEN SHIELD. It is a very interesting and motivating competition which has given us something extra to aim for other than the French Championship where we have encountered problems," Pu Plantier said.
"There is a good level of rugby in the competition as there are some prestigious clubs in the running such as Pau, Ebbw Vale and Castres.
"We are confronted with teams from different rugby cultures and styles which has enabled our young players especially to gain an extraordinary amount of experience and confidence.
"The match on Saturday will also provide us with some excellent preparation for a vital match against Narbonne the following week."
