Leeds Tykes' Scottish international Duncan Hodge will be out for at least six weeks after dislocating his elbow in the win over Harlequins last Friday at Headingley.
Hodge, who moved to Headingley in the summer from Edinburgh, was stretchered off in the first half of Friday's Powergen Cup game but initial fears that he would need surgery were later allayed.
It is likely that Hodge will not be available now until the Tykes face his old club in the Heineken Cup in the New Year.
Leeds will take on ther Neath-Swansea Ospreys in the Heineken Cup Round 1 on Sunday January 7.
