Jonny Wilkinson will play his first post-World Cup rugby match in Newcastle Falcon's PARKER PEN CHALLENGE CUP clash with Valladolid on Sunday 14 December.
Rugby's answer to David Beckham has been mobbed by adoring fans at every turn since firing 'that' last ditch drop goal to bring the Web Ellis Cup home to England and he has chosen the PARKER PEN competition for his return to action.
Wilkinson has guaranteed a 10,000 sell-out at Kingston Park by his mere presence for the second leg of the Falcon's meeting with the Spaniards, as he embarks on his latest campaign for silverware.
"It has gone mad here, absolutely mad since Jonny got back," said director of rugby Rob Andrew.
"I really don't think he knows what he has got himself into. He just wants to get on with a normal life but it is going to be very difficult to do that now.
"Thank goodness we built up the stadium last year otherwise we would not have been able to cope with this.
"He is desperately keen to play. What he has achieved is absolutely fantastic for the club. We are pioneers up here in the north-east. We have made some massive strides in developing players and a fan base and hopefully this will be the last piece in the jigsaw."
