An independent Disciplinary Committee met in Dublin on Tuesday, 11 May, to hear a citing complaint lodged by Viadana against Rugby Parma player Alesana Tuilagi following the Parker Pen Shield semi-final second leg match between Viadana and Rugby Parma on Sunday, 25 April.
The Disciplinary Committee comprised Brian McLaughlin (IRFU, Chairman) and Philip Orr (IRFU).
The citing complaint against the player, of an unprovoked assault on Viadana player Keine Robertson, was proved.
The Disciplinary Committee imposed a suspension of 12 weeks, up to and including 2 August, 2004. Mr Tuilagi has the right of appeal.
