The wily Kiwi has steered his side to the brink of greatness, and with two Twickenham appearances in six days to come, Gatland says his troops are up for the battles ahead.
"We are not tired at all," he said. "The guys are really fresh and sharp.
"We have had a high-intensity, high-quality session today and there was a real edge to it. All the boys are excited and looking forward to the weekend.
"Hopefully we will go out there and do something special."
After coming from behind to beat Munster in Dublin in an epic semi-final, Wasps will have the benefit of "home" advantage at Twickenham against the defending champions.
"We have thrived the last couple of years on challenges, when people have doubted us a little bit," Gatland added.
"Toulouse have been there before but winning the Heineken Cup is something this club hasn't achieved so there is no lack of motivation.
"We want to go out there and play some great rugby. Both teams like to attack and move the ball so it is a mouth-watering prospect, especially if the weather holds up.
"We should have an advantage because the match is at Twickenham and we should have the crowd's support. It's a familiar ground for us."
But Gatland does have one fitness concern, that of centre Fraser Waters. He is rated as 50-50 due to a strained hamstring. A decision will be made onFriday and Ayoola Erinle is on standby.
