Toulouse have received a major boost ahead of their Heineken Cup final against London Wasps with the return to training of one of their biggest stars.
Scrum-half Jean-Baptiste Elissalde has taken to the training field after an eight-week absence. after tearing a tendon in his thigh while playing for France against Wales.
Elissalde missed the Cup quarter-final and the semi-final when Toulouse beat Edinburgh (36-10) and Biarritz Olympique (19-11).
'It feels good to be back,' said the talented half-back, who is equally adept in the No 10 shirt. 'I can still feel it pulling a little bit but everything's moving in the right direction.'
Elissalde in unlikely to figure in Toulouse's French Championship play-off match with Brive this weekend, but is gearing himself up for the showdown with London Wasps at Twickenham on May 23.
'I would love to be included in the team that travels to England for the final, my leg is feeling stronger and I hope to be involved.
'The Heineken Cup final is a magnificent occasion, and is the kind of match everyone wants to be involved in.
'We know Wasps are a tough team with many star players, but we know that we too are a strong unit who can defeat them if we play to the best of our ability.'
