David Attoub, the Clermont Auvergne prop, will appear before an independent Disciplinary Committee as a result of a citing complaint made against him by The Borders following the European Challenge Cup Round 2 First Leg match between Clermont Auvergne and The Borders at Stade Marcel Michelin on 5 December.
Gordon Black, as Citing Officer, was asked to review the citing complaint raised after the game. Having reviewed the incident he has recommended that the citing complaint should now go before a disciplinary hearing.
The citing complaint is against David Attoub for allegedly grabbing an opponent's face and alleged gouging under IRB Law 10.4.k.
An independent Disciplinary Panel will now be convened and the hearing will be held as soon as is practicable.
