An independent Disciplinary Committee, comprised of Chairman, Terry Vaux (WRU), John West (IRFU) and Caleb Powell (IRFU), met in Dublin today (Monday 1 November, 2004) to hear the citing complaint by Glasgow Rugby against Northampton Saints flanker Darren Fox for an alleged head-butt (illegal use of the head) following the Heineken Cup Pool 3 Round 1 match at Hughenden on Sunday, 24 October.
The independent Disciplinary Committee viewed videos and received an admission from the player Darren Fox and found the citing complaint to be upheld.
After considering all the mitigating factors a suspension of eight (8) weeks was imposed, up to and including 26 December, 2004, and an order made for the player to pay the costs of the hearing. The player was advised of his right to appeal.
