Leicester Tigers prop Colin Noon has been suspended for six months by a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel in Coventry.
Noon was found guilty of deliberately stamping on the head of Pertemps Bees prop Matt Long during the National League One game at Rotherham's Clifton Lane ground on October 30.
Noon, who denied the offence, was on loan to Rotherham at the time. Jeff Blackett, the RFU disciplinary officer, told Noon," This is completely unacceptable behaviour in our game."
Noon will be suspended from November 19 to May 5 next year. He will be free to resume playing on May 6. The suspension thereby rules him out for all but the final fixtures this season. He has 14 days to decide whether to lodge an appeal.
