Todd Blackadder has been appointed forwards coach at Edinburgh Rugby.
He takes over the role following the departure of Henry Edwards.
Club captain Blackadder will continue to play for the Gunners and is relishing his new position at the club.
"I am looking forward to this challenge," said the former New Zealand captain. "It's going to be hard to take over from a great man such as Henry.
"Personally, I am sad that Henry is leaving and I'll be looking to take up the coaching where he has left off."
The Gunners now face make or break back-to-back matches against Newcastle Falcons following defeats to Perpignan (23-0) and Newport-Gwent Dragons (17-13) in the first two rounds of the Heineken Cup.
