Irish coach Eddie O'Sullivan will be one of several personalities who will feature at a Rugby Extravaganza which will be hosted by Connacht Rugby next Saturday night at the Radisson SAS hotel in Galway on the eve of the Parker Pen Challenge Cup semi-final against Harlequins.
Former Ireland No.8 Noel Mannion, Galway hurling legend and avid rugby fan Joe Connolly, and former Harlequins coach Dick Best are among others who will be on a panel of guests discussing the big match.
Messages of good luck from the likes of Roy Keane, Bertie Ahern, and Eddie Irvine will be delivered in his own hilarious fashion by the Today FM impressionist Mario Rosenstock who, apparently, also has some important messages for Connacht Rugby from a number of world leaders!
MC for the night will be Paul Collins from Today FM, while Galway band Furry Village will perform on stage after a question and answer session with a host of rugby and sporting personalities.
There will be a Connacht merchandise shop in the hotel, while there will be video compilation of Connacht's season so far on the numerous big screens in the ballroom.
Tickets for the event, which is hosted in conjunction with Heineken, cost â'¬20 each and are available from the Connacht Branch (091-561568) and online at www.connachtrugby.ie Dress will be casual on the night.
Meanwhile, on Sunday morning there will be a pre-match Champagne Lunch at the Radisson SAS, Galway. Tables of ten will cost â'¬800, including seated match ticket, souvenir programme and four course lunch.
The highlight here will be a performance by Macnas at the end of the meal, with a host of costume characters and ten drummers in Connacht gear then leading the patrons on a march from the hotel to the ground, ensuring there will be a carnival atmosphere in the build-up to the game.
Tickets for these events are on a first-come, first-serve basis and already more than half the places have been sold for each event.
