London Wasps coach Warren Gatland made no attempt to hide his delight as his side mustered a stirring come-from-behind victory to break Munster hearts and progress to the Heineken Cup Final.
"I can take the smile of my face at the moment," said an elated Gatland.
"We showed great character to come back from 10 points down and up against that sort of support, I'm extremely proud of the players and their performance. Five tries to two is a reflection that the better team won."
The win was all the sweeter for the visiting coach, during an intense second half spell when Munster grabbed two tries in three minutes, it looked as if the Londoners' dream of their first Heineken Cup final had gone up in smoke.
"I was very concerned when it was 32-22 and at half time I just told them to keep their shape and pattern. They put us under pressure to 10 minutes but we have good a really good work ethic and we work incredibly hard.
"It was a stop-start game and we struggled to get any real momentum or rhythm but you saw the character out there today. We don't like to give away penalties, but you had two sets of teams going out there and not holding anything back. It was a carrot to win today with the final at Twickenham, our players have been their before and it is an advantage for us.
"We wanted to win so badly but we were probably a bit too emotional before the game, and that is why we gave away those early penalties. I don't think we played particularly well at times, and I know there is an other big performance in us.
Wasps' assistant coach Shaun Edwards echoed the sentiments of the visiting fans.
"It was probably the best game of rugby I have ever seen, it was incredible. The sheer intensity, emotion, and it been a real cliff-hanger - it really was bit special."
