Stade Francais lock Mike James prayed for lady luck as his side were drawn at 'home' in a potential semi-final against either Wasps or Gloucester.
"The Canadian international lock knows at this level, the difference between success and failure is slight, he said: 'If we have the luck - and that is exactly what it comes down to at this level against sides like Munster - then we will have a home draw in the semi-final.
"But one thing is certain. We haven't picked the easiest route to try and win the Heineken Cup and Munster will be another mighty challenge and, if we beat them, it is either Wasps or Gloucester.
Stade, who were beaten finalists in 2000, qualified as Pool 1 winners after doing the double over Leicester Tigers - the side that beat them 34-30 that day - are targeting European success, starting in Ireland.
"We will be playing against one of the best sides in Europe in front of a full house of screaming Irishmen. Munster are a European standard. It is six years in a row they have qualified for the quarter-finals and we are going to be right up against it. But, if we get through Munster, then we might be unstoppable by then.
"The team is certainly up for the challenge and we have got a lot of good rugby to play before the knock-out stages begin. A lot of people have a tendency to look to the semi-final too early, but we will be focusing firmly on Munster and going to Thomond Park will be a considerable test."
