Parker Pen Shield Semi-finalists Arix Viadana have announced that their New Zealand coach Andrew Talaimanu will be leaving them due to family commitments.
Talaimanu has coached Viadana to the semi finals of the Europe-wide competition, and into the top 3 of the Italian Championship.
Arix Viadana General Manager Franco Tonni said:' We are very disappointed to lose Andrew as he has done a tremendous job for the club. We are on target for a very successful season and whilst we had hoped he could continue as Head Coach, we respect he is a strong family man and he needs to attend to their needs'.
Talaimanu had joined Viadana in July of last year on a two-year contract. 'I am sorry to leave but may family did not settle well and I need to put them as my first priority," he said.
'Viadana are a fantastic club and I would like to thank the all the players and staff. Plus a special thanks to President Silvano Melegari and Franco Tonni for their support and understanding during this time. I am sure they will continue to do great things this season'.
Franco Tonni added: 'We will carry on the great work Andrew has done and I am sure he will reappear somewhere in the rugby arena when he is ready. He is the best coach we have had and arguably the best in Italy.
The club will continue under the leadership of Technical Director Franco Bernini and Assistant Coach Lee Lidgard.
