Leicester Tigers centre Leon Lloyd says he is aiming to be back playing in three weeks.
"The best-case scenario could see me back in three weeks, the worst-case scenario could see me back in four to five weeks," said the man who starred in both of the Tigers' Heineken Cup final victories.
"I'm on the mend now which is the main thing," he said at the launch of the Heineken Cup in the sumptuous surroundings of Edinburgh Castle
Lloyd underwent an arthroscopy on his right knee two weeks ago, after limping off during his side's 19-26 loss to Sale Sharks at Edgeley Park in the first weekend of September.
Lloyd will miss the Tigers' Heineken Cup opener against Calvisano on Saturday week (October 23), but he could be fit for the second game against Biarritz the following weekend.
"I love the Heineken Cup," he says. "I made my debut in the tournament against Leinster back in 1996, so I do like the competition and I look forward to making my return."
