Toulouse fear they could be without their inspirational skipper Fabien Pelous for the opening rounds of the Heineken Cup.
The French star is in a race against time to recover from a shoulder injury with less than three weeks to go before Toulouse kick off their European campaign against Llanelli Scarlets at Stradey Park.
Lock, one of the most experienced campaigners in the Heineken Cup, left the field just five minutes into the second half of Toulouse's league win over Brive last Saturday.
Team doctor Gilbert Sadacca said: "Initial tests have not revealed any fractures. Fabien Pelous will undergo tests this week to determine how long he will be out for."
There was better news for Toulouse, however, with the news that France fly-half Frederic Michalak, who made his return from six weeks out with a shoulder injury but was substituted after a collision during Saturday's game, had been given the all clear.
