NEC Harlequins have confirmed the signing of Springbok lock Geo Cronje though have lost the services of Australian scrum-half Matt Henjak.
Cronje, 24, has been released by the Blue Bulls and will arrive at The Stoop next week after playing in this weekend's Currie Cup final against Freestate Cheetahs. He could even make his debut for the Quins against Heineken Cup champions London Wasps on November 5 alongside fellow new arrival Simon Maling but will only be eligible to take part in Europe if they qualify for the quarter-finals. However Henjak has returned Down Under to join the Wallaby squad preparing for their tour of Europe next month after Chris Whitaker withdrew with a groin strain. Henjak had originally been expected to stay in London until Christmas though there was a clause in his contract allowing him to leave should he be required by the Australian national squad.
