Six Down, Two To Go

Stade Francais' 26-13 victory at Leicester earned them a ticket to the last eight as Pool 1 champions on Friday night.

On Saturday Toulouse earned the bonus point they needed in their 33-0 home win over Edinburgh Rugby to not only take over at the top of Pool 2, but also ensure they will be the number one seed in the draw for the quarter-final.

Despite losing their unbeaten record in the tournament this season, Edinburgh's 22 points from their first five matches were enough to guarantee a best runners up place in the last eight. They will be the number eight seed, which means a return trip to Toulouse in April.

The dramatic five try home win Biarritz Olympique over the Leinster Lions ensured the Frenchmen leapfrogged their Irish rivals to take the Pool 3 title with 20 points.

Meanwhile the qualification drama in Pool 5 lasted until eight minutes from time in Limerick before a penalty try awarded by English referee Tony Spreadbury enabled Munster to grab a bonus point in their 26-3 win over Bourgoin.

Gloucester had already run in four tries in the first half of their 42-11 home win over Benetton Treviso, but had to be content with second place in the Pool because in the two matches between Munster and Gloucester the Irish side had picked up five Match Points to their English rivals four.

Munster will have to wait until the outcome of the Sunday match in Pool 6 between Perpignan and London Wasps before they find out if they are the second or third seeds. Whatever happens, though, they are guaranteed a home quarter-final, whereas Gloucester will be away as the seventh seeds.

Anyone of three teams could still win Pool six, Perpignan, London Wasps or the Celtic Warriors.

In Pool 4 it's a straight shoot out between Northampton Saints and Llanelli Scarlets for the Pool title and the home quarter-final draw.
