Rotherham Progress To Final Eight

Rotherham recorded their first win on the season as they put Italian club GRAN to the sword in a Parker Pen Shield clash at Millmoor.

The Titans lost the first-leg tie 33-41 but the win was never in doubt today as they gave their long-suffering fans their first taste of victory in the 2003-04 season. The win earns Rotherham a match-up with tournament favourites Viadana next weekend.

Fullback Jon Benson scored a try and kicked 12 points to earn man of the match honours, while winger Joe Ewens bagged a brace of tries.

GRAN started well and were 10-0 up in as many minutes, but Rotherham replied with 42 unanswered points before a late try to visiting hooker Carlo Festuccia.
