Benetton Treviso have finally recorded their first Heineken Cup win over French opposition - and now coach Craig Green is calling for an away day special.
"The 42-33 win over Bourgoin was vitally important for two reasons," said former All Blacks star Green. "Firstly, before the start of the campaign, Bourgoin was a side we thought we could beat but they have had a great season so far so it means even more to have beaten one of the top sides in France.
"Secondly, it was important for Italian rugby - we must get at least one or two wins each season to justify our participation and to continue our progression.
"To get our first win over a French side in the Heineken Cup is significant. Last year it was fantastic to beat Castres home and away but Castres at the time were struggling and it is great to beat a form side in the Heineken Cup.
"The challenge now is to go to Bourgoin and do it again. They will want to return us the favour - and physically it will be a lot harder - but our players are very positive and the win in Castres last year will give them confidence.
"It's not easy to prepare for this competition after Italian domestic rugby because of the huge difference in the speed of a match. But what was so pleasing about Saturday's performance was that we were still playing and creating chances right up until the last minute. We scored some good tries and we've got to do the same this weekend.
"As for the rest of the campaign, we've got a point to prove against Munster as we know we can play better than we did in Round 1 and the Gloucester game away from home should be interesting because Gloucester may have to win and get five points in that game in order to go through so we've got three very hard games left but we're relishing the challenge."
