Montferrand travel to Vicarage Road on Sunday for the second leg of their Parker Pen Challenge Cup quarter-final showdown against Saracens with a 16-points advantage - and with coach Alain Hyardet declaring the last eight of the tournament is tougher than their domestic French competition.
"These matches are a higher standard than the French Championship and it is giving us a huge amount of confidence to get a run of wins," he said.
And the French side will have to contend with World Cup-winning Richard Hill.
Hill as recoved from the broken nose he sistained in the 'freindly' between England and the New Zealand Barbarians before Christmas.
Montferrand have their own injury concerns ahead of the crunch match.
"We are missing two front row players - Laurent Emmannuelli and Olivier Azam - but other than that we should have a fit squad.
"We were pleased with our performance against Saracens but the return leg is not going to be easy ... you could say it is 0-0 at half-time.
"We produced a good match last weekend - we dominated and scored some good tries - but it's undoubtedly going to be a different kettle of fish in London.
"Saracens will put a lot more pressure on our game because they will want to make up the 16 point difference. It means we will have to apply ourselves even more in defence and, when we have the ball, we must try and retain possession in order to score.
"It is true that Montferrand have had difficulty winning away from home in the past but our New Year's wish is to win away so we'll have to wait and see.
"Saracens' main dangerman is Thomas Castaignà¨de so you don't want him to have the space to do what he does best. They are also capable of shifting the ball out quickly from the ruck so our defence there will be tight. Kyran Bracken, if he plays, is another player you have to watch carefully.
"They have a full-back with a huge amount of speed and a powerful pack - especially if Cobus Visagie and Richard Hill return to the fold - and we could see a different side to the Saracens team.
"And we are looking forward to the trip - travelling makes you younger so, the way we are looking at it, the more times we cross the channel, the better!"
