Llanelli boss Gareth Jenkins upped the stakes for his Euro hopefuls after admitting they must take maximum points from Friday night's Heineken Cup clash with The Borders.
The Scarlets coach admits there is no room for error after being washed out in a French storm at the weekend.
The quarter-finals were within their grasp before defeat to Agen threw the pool wide open once again and now Jenkins does not want to leave anything to chance.
"We realise that we need to win the next two games in the pool if we are going to make the quarter-finals," he said.
"We have have beaten ourselves up a bit over the last couple of days looking at what we should have done and what we didn't do in the Agen game.
"We've reflected and realised that we missed a great opportunity against Agen. It's frustrating coming so close to winning a crucial away game the way we did.
"But heindsight is a wonderfull thing and we have to look forward.
"Losing away in this competition is not a disaster and we know what we have to do to qualify, starting with The Borders on Friday.
"We have to beat them and get a bonus point in some ways that sharpens our focus. We are chasing more than just a result if we need to score four tries as well.
"That means we have got to play positive rugby and play an expansive game. Thankfully the ground is looking a bit firmer than in Agen at the weekend."
However Jenkins has been forced to delay naming his side for Friday's must-win game as he counts the cost of that loss.
Mark Taylor is a major doubt as he struggles to recover from a knee injury that needed attention midway through the second-half of the rain-soaked defeat in France.
The problem is not in his troubled right knee that needed complete reconstruction following the British Lions tour in 2001 but is looking likely to rule him out for this week.
Jenkins said: "We are having to look at quite a few niggling injuries from the weekend that we are concerned about but inparticular Mark."
