And head coach John Connolly is confident that will be enough to enable them to book a place in the Parker Pen Challenge Cup quarter-finals the following weekend.
"I'm happy with the seven-point advantage," said Connolly. "The 14-point lead we had until the 80th minute would have been even better but we'll take the win.
"It is only half-time at this stage, the match is over 160 minutes so you can't take anything for granted.
"Colomiers are a good side as they showed on Sunday and they have pulled off a number of scalps this season - including beating Montferrand away from home.
"There is no question that we want to be very competitive in the Parker Pen Challenge Cup as well as the Powergen Cup but for the English teams in this competition, the Zurich Premiership has to be the priority at this stage.
"Unlike some of the Celtic nations, we have to qualify for the Heineken Cup through our domestic competition and it's not easy to finish in the top four or five in the Zurich."
