Newcastle Falcons have suffered more injury woe ahead of their Parker Pen Challenge Cup Round 2 tie with Montferrand this weekend.
Not only have the Falcons lost England star Jonny Wilkinson with a reoccurrence of a shoulder injury, but now they have lost wingers Michael Stephenson and Tom May.
Both sustained injuries during their 29-25 Zurich Premiership defeat to NEC Harlequins on Sunday.
Stephenson injured his elbow when he crashed into the dug-out shortly after scoring a 68th-minute try that levelled the scores at 22-22.
"He's definitely dislocated his elbow," said Falcons boss Rob Andrew.
"It's a question of whether he's fractured anything in the process. He's gone off to hospital to have it checked."
May went off on the hour mark with a neck injury, but there is no indication yet as to how serious the duo's injuries are.
The northerners - who were without shoulder injury-victim Wilkinson - looked to have snatched victory when fly-half Dave Walder put over an injury-time drop goal to break the deadlock, but Harlequins had the final say when prop Ceri Jones was driven over for the decider in the ninth minute of stoppage time.
