Calvisano captain Giampiero de Carli admitted his side's pairing with Heineken Cup holders Wasps is the stuff nightmares are made of.
The Italian Championship runners-up face the daunting prospect of taking on the champions as well as former European kings Leicester and semi-finalist Biarritz.
And de Carli admitted his team face mountains of hard work before their mission impossible begins in October.
"It's a nightmare Pool for us," he said. "In the seven or eight years I've been playing in the Heineken Cup this has got to be the most difficult Pool I've ever been involved in.
"We played Wasps last season so we know just how hard they are going to be, Biarritz could have reached the Heineken Cup final last season and are also very strong while Leicester are bound to be even more competitive this season after a slight drop in form.
"The Heineken Cup is always a major challenge, but there is a lot of work for us to do between now and the first round in October to make ourselves competitive."
