Geraghty praises pack

England outside half Geraghty scored 21 of his side's points in their 31-27 home win in Pool 1 over the 2006 and 2008 champions to scoop the Heineken man of the Match award.

But rather than take the plaudits for his outstanding goalkicking and cheeky try, Geraghty heaped the praise on his pack.

"The forwards were outstanding and they gave me plenty of quality possession to play with," he said.

"It was a special evening for the boys. The game swung both ways every 20 minutes, but they have come a long way over last season and this and all the hard work has paid off.

"It wasn't one of those games in which you have to struggle to motivate yourself - you could feel the passion in the town, the fans and the team all week."

As well as kicking two conversions and four penalties, Geraghty also conjured up a try out of nothing as he suckered the Munster defence with a dart over from 15 metres out.

The quick thinking outside half, who joined the Saints from London Irish in the summer, shunned a kick at goal in the second minute of injury time at the end of the first-half and instead did a quick tap and go to himself.

"I have seen players do it against other teams I have played with in the past. I saw a few of the Munster boys heading towards the posts when the penalty was given and I backed myself to go past the last few of them," said Geraghty.
