Amlin Challenge Cup winning coach Steve Meehan will have a further two years to crack the Heineken Cup with Bath after he announced his contract has been extended until 2012.
The Australian lead Bath to European glory in 2008 with a win over Worcester to give the famous Bath brand their first silverware in a decade.
Meehan joined the west country club in 2006 when he was hired as backs coach. He took over the reigns when Brian Ashton left the club.
And now Meehan has had his work at the club endorsed, despite a less than brilliant start to this season's Heineken cup that saw his side outplayed by Ulster last Friday.
The coach said: "I'm very happy to be staying. To continue working with these players, for this club, and its supporters, is a real privilege."
Meehan's decision to extend his stay at Bath comes shortly after the arrival of the new chief executive, Nick Blofeld, who took over from Bob Calleja on 1 September.
"We are delighted Steve has pledged another two years to Bath Rugby, and the whole team both on and off the pitch are keen to keep improving," said Blofeld.
"I think we have the squad, coaches and support team to be regularly finishing in the top four of the Guinness Premiership and challenging for major honours, domestically and on the European stage, over the next few years."
