The leading lights in European rugby know how important home country advantage can be in the toughest club competition in the game.
Four teams still have a shot at a home tie in the semi-finals. Only two can win that honour.
The winner of the matches between Cardiff Blues or Toulouse, and Munster and Ospreys will have semi-final matches in their home country. And that advantage is 'all the motivation needed' according to Blues Director of Rugby David Young.
Should his side be victorious in their quarter-final, the semi-final could take place at the Millennium Stadium, the site of the Blues' Pool Stage win over Gloucester.
"There is massive incentive for us - if we can get through the quarter finals - and be home again in Wales in the semi-final. It is all the motivation we need," Young said.
Ospreys coach Sean Holley, who could also take his side to Cardiff for a potential semi-final against either Harlequins or Magners League rivals Leister, said: "The opportunity of having a home semi-final is just unbelievable.
"But first we have to get past Munster and are under no illusions regarding the quarter-final task ahead of us"
However, Holley said, "This is a one-off game and we have had close encounters with them over there.
Holley will have to fins a way of stopping Munster centre Rua Tipoki. The New Zealander has become a firm favourite with the fans of the defending Heineken Cup champions.
But he is as pragmatic as he is powerful and he said: "In the Heineken Cup the first priority is always to have the chance of a home match so we are hugely pleased with that. It is a great opportunity for us. However the Ospreys will be tough in the Quarters because they have top players all over the field, but we have got everything to play for.
Joint Toulouse captain Jean Bouilhou knows that if his side can survive their quarter-final against the No.1 seeds, home advantage will be a boost as his side target a fourth Heineken Cup success.
He said: We have been lucky because if we can beat the Blues we will be at home so that would give us a better chance.
"But first we have to play Cardiff on the road and that will be extremely tough. It will certainly he hard to win in Wales and I think they will be the favourites for that quarter-final."
