Cardiff Blues skipper Martyn Williams says that victory over Gloucester is the highlight for his region was since its fomation in 2003.
The Blues won their fifth game on the bounce to top Pool 6 and marched into the final eight of the Heineken Cup for the second successive season.
And Williams knows just how a big a result it was a Kingsholm. He said: That was the best game the blues have had since we were formed"
"It was a great effort from everyone out there. We dug in, showed guts and did the right things at the right time."
It was a mighty effort from a Cardiff side who played the majority of the match with fourteen players after Tom James was sent off for a head butt on Olivier Azam.
And Williams was full of praise for his side. "We played a great kicking game, and the front five were immense," he added.
The Blues now play Calvisano in their final Pool match next weekend knowing that victory will hand them a home quarter-final.
