Acting Gloucester skipper Luke Narraway pledged his side will fight to the finish for a coveted Heineken Cup quarter-final berth in Biarritz.
The English club's chances of making the last eight were severely dented by their 16-12 home defeat to 14-man Cardiff Blues, but they still have an outside chance of squeezing through as one of the two best runners up in the Pools.
"We know we have got to do something special in Biarritz, but we are not giving up yet," said Narraway.
"We aren't out of it as yet, although we all realise we have made it harder for ourselves.
"Not too many teams go to Biarritz and win. But a win is what we will be aiming for, and, with only a five day turnaround, we won't have too much time to dwell on this defeat.
