Jerry Collins will play no part in the forthcoming European fortnight after sustaining a knee injury whilst playing for Toulon last weekend.
His side were defeated by Brive, but worse news for Tanu Umaga's team is that his compatriot and big-summer signing could be out for the remainder of the season.
The All Black back-row forward was carried off after being tackled by Brive prop Pascal Idieder just 10 minutes into Saturday night's match.
Collins was brought in to help Toulon to be competitive in the Top 14 Orange and the European challenge cup, however, this season has not gone to plan and Toulon are propping up Pool B in Europe, and are at the wrong end of the table in the French championship.
Collins will undergo further medical assessment today to determine the full extend of the damage.
