Star fly-half Danny Cipriani could be back in Wasps colours for this weekend's Amlin Challenge Cup clash with Bayonne at Adams Park.
One of the most high-profile players in English rugby has been out of action for nine weeks with a fractured fibula.
The 22-year-old England international hasn't featured since the league game against Northampton on October 4 but was an unused replacement in Sunday's win over Leicester.
Cipriani has since been named in the starting line up for a Wasps 'A' team when they face Harlequins at Henley this evening.
And an impressive performance on his return to action would give director of rugby Tony Hanks a selection headache ahead of the double header with Bayonne.
Dave Walder is the current incumbent of the Wasps No10 shirt but Cipriani's undouted talent would make him a hard man to ignore once fully fit.
Also appearing for the former Challenge Cup and double Heineken Cup winners at Henley is rugby-league convert Lee Smith.
The ex-Leeds Rhinos hero starts on the left wing in what will be his first game since joining the 15-a-side version of the sport.
Smith was one of the stand-out players as Leeds clinched yet another Super League crown earlier this year and is expected to follow Jason Robinson in successfully switching codes.
There is even more good news for Wasps in their selection for this evening's game, with Mark Robinson named at scrum-half after a lengthy lay off.
The New Zealander underwent knee surgery in the summer but is now back to challenge Joe Simpson for the No9 berth.
