Harlequins scrum-half Danny Care will not feature in the club's crucial Heineken Cup clash with Sale Sharks this weekend after he was suspended for a week.
The suspension was handed out internally by Quins who were disappointed with the manner in which Care was sin binned last Friday.
The England international received a yellow card during Quins' nail-biting 30-27 win at Leeds Carnegie and has subsequently been suspended for Sunday's match.
Care saw yellow for a dangerous tackle on Leeds back row Rhys Oakley after half an hour at Headingley Carnegie in his second game back since appearing for his country during the November internationals.
Quins currently sit bottom of Pool 5 with two defeats from their opening two Heineken Cup fixtures and another loss in Round 3 will make qualification for the knockout stages of Europe's premier competition highly unlikely.
Care will be available for selection for the second game of the double header against Sale which takes place at Edgeley Park a week on Sunday.
