Bath Rugby will be without giant wing Matt Banahan for their crucial Pool 4 double header with Edinburgh.
The England international has been suspended for a fortnight after being found guilty of stamping during Bath's last outing.
Banahan was sent off for the offence in the league fixture at Northampton Saints on Saturday after a touch judge ruled that his foot had made contact with the head of opposition fly-half Stephen Myler during the 15-13 defeat.
He pleaded not guilty to the offence but was subsequently banned for two weeks and will not be eligible for selection until the Premiership derby with Gloucester on December 27.
The news is a big blow for Bath coach Steve Meehan, whose side have lost both their opening Heineken Cup matches and stand on the edge of elimination from the continent's top competition.
Bath were beaten 26-12 by Ulster at Ravenhill in week one before a last-minute penalty from Julien Dupuy robbed them of a much-needed home win over Stade Francais a week later.
With Stade currently unbeaten and Ulster and Edinburgh having secured a win apiece so far, the 1998 Heineken Cup winners will be chasing four straight wins to have any realistic chance of progressing to the knockout stages.
