Glasgow Warriors out-half Ruaridh Jackson has been ruled out of action for up to three months and will miss the Warriors' opening two Heineken Cup games.
Jackson sustained a shoulder injury while scoring the only try of the game during the Warriors' 22-9 win over Munster at Firhill on Friday in the Magners League.
Sean Lineen will therefore have to plan without the young number 10 for Glasgow's two opening Heineken Cup games against Biarritz Olympique and the Dragons
Speakign to scottishrugby.org Glasgow Warriors team doctor, Gerry Haggerty, said: "Following medical examination on Monday evening Ruaridh will have his shoulder stabilised in the coming week once the injury has had time to settle.
"It will take around three months for the shoulder to heal but our immediate aim is to ensure a full recovery for Ruaridh and to have him back playing for Glasgow as soon as possible."
Glasgow Warriors welcome Biarritz Olympique to Firhill on Saturday, 10 October for the opening match in Pool 2 of the Heineken Cup.
