Do you know Racing-Metro 92?

Racing Club was established in 1882 and became Racing Club de France in 1885. They won the inaugural rugby championship final in 1892, beating Stade Français 4-3. Racing lifted the Bouclier de Brennus again in 1900, 1902, 1959 and 1990.

The name Racing-Metro 92 is the result of the merger in 2001 of Racing Club de France and l'US Metro.

The new Racing-Metro 92 played several seasons in Pro D2 before winning promotion to the Top 14 Orange last season.

The home ground of the club is the Stade Yves-du-Manoir stadium at Colombes. The previously named Stade de Colombes, it was built to host the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris, the Soccer World Cup final in 1938 and was used to host the Five Nations games until 1972.

The current name of the stadium was given in memory of a former Racing player who died in a plane accident in 1928.

Racing was the club of a lot of international players such as: Laurent Cabannes, Denis Charvet, René Crabos, Jean-Baptiste Lafond, Franck Mesnel, Yves Du Manoir, Robert Paparemborde, Jean-Pierre Rives, Jérome Thion, Andrew Merthens, Agustin Pichot and many others as 76 players from Racing played for France and 12 of them became France captain.

This season, club chairman Jacky Lorenzetti will welcome more rugby stars with the arrival of Sebastien Chabal, Lionel Nallet and South Africa's World Cup utility back François Steyn.

Five former Racing players launched the clothing brand Eden Park in 1988. Franck Mesnel - who still seats on the Board, Yvon Rousset, Éric Blanc, Jean-Baptiste Lafond and Philippe Guillard where the founders of the pink bow tie logo brand.

Racing-Metro 92 are coached by Pierre Berbizier who won 57 caps for France before going onto to coach the national sides of France and Italy.
