The well-drilled outfit overcame the Oakmeadians in a close final victory, triumphing 17 - 4 following an enjoyable day of rugby for all those involved. In the plate competition, Sherborne battled to victory over Blandford, running in a number of tries for a 38 - 7 win.

Victorious Wootton Bassett captain, David Martin, said: "Thank you for a really professionally organised day, everything went really well and the rugby has been great. I am really proud of the young new team who played today; the whole tournament has exceed all expectations."
Tournament organiser David Shephard said, "Today has been an excellent rugby tournament. We thank Heineken for their support and for providing the resources to host such a great competition. We had a brilliant day and I hope to host another tournament next year."
By winning the eighth Heineken 10's festival, Wooton Bassett automatically go into the hat to become eligible for the Heineken legacy donation, which will be awarded to one of the victorious clubs at the completion of all of the Heineken 10's festivals in 2009.
Following a successful inaugural year of the first ever national 10's rugby competition in 2008, the Heineken 10's returns bigger and better in 2009. With 15 tournaments hosted at rugby clubs nationwide between May and September, this is the first ever social rugby tens tournament of its kind. It promises to attract even more amateur rugby players - with over 2500 taking part in 2009.
