Kenny Logan's Five Murrayfield Moments

"One of my favourite Murrayfield moments was Scotland's try against Wales in 1995. The ball came to me in my own 22 via Gavin Hastings and Doddie Weir, I then beat 5 or 6 players down the wing including Ieuan Evans and Robert Jones. I remember stepping inside and seeing Eric Peters coming across, I rode the tackle, passed the ball and Peters got the try which he went on to win lots of awards for that year. I always remember him being embarrassed by it as I took the ball 60-70 yards - when we celebrated all the players were around me and he walked back to the half way line on his own!

Scotland's clash against England in 2000 was another great game of rugby. I was injured but reporting for BBC Scotland and predicted a Scottish win. I'll never forget Dallaglio scoring his first try for England, the crowd were ecstatic but at the end Duncan Hodge took the ball over the line for a fantastic Scottish win.

The semi finals of the Rugby World Cup in 1991 with Gavin Hastings is another fantastic memory. Unfortunately Gavin missed an easy penalty-kick just before England took the lead and ended up beating the Scots 9-6. It must have been heart-breaking for him, I watched the game on TV but I just remember thinking that it showed how hard the game can be.

The fourth memory also involves Gavin Hastings as it's when he cried on TV in a match against England in 1994. The referee said a Scottish hand came through the scrum and pulled the ball back. England that year had blue cuffs and it was actually Rob Andrew's hand, but the penalty was given against us. It was one of those kicks where you initially think it's outside the posts but it snuck in and our hearts just sank. The whistle went and we were devastated, absolutely devastated. Gavin lost it, and just cried on national TV. Will Carling absolutely loved it of course!

Edinburgh's victory against Wasps in the Heineken Cup in 2005 was just a fantastic game of rugby. I was there for Sky Sports and I just couldn't see Wasps losing. Edinburgh were awesome and it just made you think 'Why can't they play like that every week?' It was a great event and Edinburgh were over the moon. It was fantastic for a Scottish team to beat the Premiership and Heineken Cup champions at the time.

Overall, I have fantastic memories of Murrayfield, it has a great atmosphere and as it's in the heart of Edinburgh, the whole city takes rugby on board. I've played for Scotland there many times and had some great games. Playing there when I was just 18 means it's very close to my heart and it's got bigger and better over the years. The atmosphere this year is sure to be formidable with two world-class teams and their fans. The crowd can expect a great Heineken Cup weekend at the final of the biggest and best club competition in Europe."
