The former Borders Head Coach Rob Moffat and current backs coach at Edinburgh will step up to replace Andy Robinson as the new head coach in the Scottish capital.
Moffat, who has been Edinburgh's back coach for the past three seasons, has previously served as both the assistant coach and Head Coach at the Borders, and also number 2 at Glasgow.
The 52-year old who also guided Scotland 'A' to the 2008 Churchill Cup Final says he is hugely excited about the challenge ahead.
"I'm really pleased to have been given the opportunity to take Edinburgh forward. The squad has made a lot of progress over the past two seasons with back-to-back record finishes in the Magners League.
But the main aim for next season will be to improve upon those achievements and take the development onto the next level. The squad is bursting with quality and potential and I'm really excited about what we can achieve together." explained new Edinburgh's coach.
This season, Edinburgh has been drawn in Pool 4 of the Heineken Cup alongside two formers winners Bath and Ulster as well as Stade Français Paris.
