Biarritz Olympique haved secured the French top seeding in the Heineken Cup Pool draw after winning the Top 14 final.
Heineken Cup finalists Biarritz Olympique Pays Basque will be the French top seeded team in Europe after they won the Top 14 French championship final against Toulouse on Saturday.
The Basque side, who lost out to Munster in the Heineken Cup final in Cardiff in May, defeated Toulouse in emphatic style 40-13 in Stade de France, scoring all of their five tries in the second half.
The make up and seedings of the 24 teams for the 2006/7 Heineken Cup are now known and the Pool draw will take place on Wednesday, 21 June.
The No 1 seeded teams from each of the six nations - France (Biarritz Olympique PB), England (Sale Sharks), Ireland (Ulster), Italy (Benetton Treviso), Wales (Cardiff Blues) and Scotland (Edinburgh Gunners) - will be drawn in separate Pools. No two teams from the same country will be drawn in the same Pool except for the seventh French club, Castres Olympique, who could face any of their six domestic rivals.
