Reflecting on Round 1 Dewi was impressed with some Irish contributions but was more than just plain disappointed by the performance of one of the French powerhouses.
TRY OF THE WEEK:
SHANE WILLIAMS - OSPREYS
Shane Williams' second try for the Ospreys against Sale: It was like rugby league on the sixth tackle, keeping the ball alive. It was a pretty average game in between his first and last try, Sale tried to out-muscle them and then the Ospreys came back playing some tremendous welsh rugby in the same vein as when they won the Grand Slam.
Sale were only six points ahead and with the Williams try and Hook's conversion it stole the game for the Ospreys. Sale only have themselves to blame.
TEAM OF THE WEEK:
ULSTER
Ulster, purely because they've been playing well and they are really trying to build something at Ravenhill. They dominated Toulouse - who were unbelievably poor - but Ulster didn't allow them to play.
The way they went about their business especially from first phase was fantastic and stifled the life out of Toulouse.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
CILLIAN WILLIS
Willis, Leinster's third choice scrum-half, and Brian O'Driscoll's cousin. He's a young lad who came in and played a blinder against Gloucester. Leinster are a good side but for Willis to come in at late notice and play the way he did was fantastic. He hardly put a foot wrong.
There are other big names who could have earned the honour of the best player this week but I just like to see youngsters coming through and playing without fear.
VILLAINS OF THE WEEK:
TOULOUSE
Toulouse as a whole. It's a broadcaster's nightmare when they don't put the team out as happened against Ulster this weekend. The side that took the pitch bore very little resemblance to the team that they announced and it actually worked against them.
They played as poorly as I have ever seen them play and to pull that trick in this day and age doesn't pull the wool over anyone's eyes. They should have just named the side and got on with it.
MOMENT OF THE WEEK:
G-OWEN DOWN
The poor referee that clashed heads with Owen Finnigan during Leinster v Gloucester at Landsdowne Road on Saturday. It was a freak accident and a comedy moment rolled into one.
I have never seen that happen before and it certainly raised a smile on our commentators' faces.
