ERC: Heineken Cup Round 2 Citings Date

Chris Budgen (Northampton Saints) and Ross Ford (Border Reivers) are due to appear before an independent Disciplinary Committee chaired by Mark McParland (Ireland) and also comprising George Spotswood (Ireland) and Roger Morris (Wales) as a result of citings lodged against them following the Round 2 Heineken Cup Pool 6 match between Northampton Saints and Border Reivers at Franklin's Gardens on Saturday, 28 October, 2006.

The citings lodged by the Citing Commissioner for the match, Denis Templeton (Ireland), are:
Ross Ford (Border Reivers No 2) - Punching. Alleged contravention of Law 10.4 (a).
Chris Budgen (Northampton Saints No 3) - Stamping. Alleged contravention of Law 10.4 (b).

Owen Finegan (Leinster) is due to appear before an independent Disciplinary Committee chaired by Chris Quinlan (England) and also comprising Anthony Davies (England) and Roger Morris (Wales) as a result of a citing lodged against him following the Round 2 Heineken Cup Pool 2 match between Edinburgh and Leinster at Murrayfield on Sunday, 29 October, 2006.

The citing lodged by the Citing Commissioner for the match, John Byett (England), is:
Owen Finegan (Leinster No 18) - Stamping. Alleged contravention of Law 10.4 (b).

Law 10.4 (a) Punching or striking: A player must not strike an opponent with the fist or arm, including the elbow, shoulder, head or knee(s).
Law 10.4 (b): Stamping or trampling: A player must not stamp or trample on an opponent.

Please note that the independent Disciplinary Hearing regarding the citings of the Toulouse players Omar Hasan, Salvatore Perugini and Trevor Brennan following the Round 1 Heineken Cup Pool 5 match against Ulster Rugby at Ravenhill on Saturday, 21 October, 2006, will be held in London on Monday, 6 November, 2006. Toulouse were granted a postponement to the hearing.
