Denis Leamy was cleared of stamping during last week's Ireland V Italy RBS Six Nations opener.
At a disciplinary hearing in London today (Wednesday, 8 February), Denis Leamy, the Munster flanker, was cleared of stamping on Italy scrum half Paul Griffen following his citing by the independent Citing Commissioner after the RBS 6 Nations Championship match between Ireland and Italy at Lansdowne Road on Saturday, 4 February.
The three-man panel, chaired by Terry Vaux (Wales), arrived at the decision after viewing the video evidence and hearing the player's explanation.
This decision is a welcome relief to Munster fans, as a suspension could have resulted in Leamy missing the quarter-final against Perpignan in Lansdowne Road. This weekend, Leamy will play alongside many of his Munster commrades when Ireland take on France in their Six Nations clash in Paris.
