It's down to the wire now for the five contenders who have been shortlisted for the ultimate individual accolade in northern hemisphere rugby, ERC European Player of the Year 2013.

The 32-year-old has made a huge impact on Tyneside since his arrival in the summer of 2004, starting in all but one of the club's 13 matches in the Heineken Cup and the European Challenge Cup, scoring 5 tries and racking up a further 79 points with the boot.
The fullback will aim to build on his tally of 36 points in the tournament this season as his club continue their quest for their first European club trophy.
Unbeaten in the pool stages, Newcastle Falcons secured home advantage for their European Challenge Cup quarter-final against Connacht Rugby in Kington Park Stadium, Friday 31 March, 19:30. A victory for Falcons would give them a home semi-final game against the winner of Gloucester Rugby V Brive, which kicks off at 15:00 Saturday 1 April.
