Yannick Jauzion was man-of-the-match against Leicester
Toulouse star centre Yannick Jauzion reckons the Heineken Cup final will be a close affair after booking an all French showdown against Stade Francais.
Jauzion, man of the match in the semi-final victory over Leicester Tigers, admitted Toulouse would have preferred to take revenge for last season's Twickenham heartbreak on English opposition.
He said: "We know all about Stade Francias so perhaps that will make it even more difficult in the final. I think we would have preferred to play English opposition after losing n the final to Wasps last year.
"Everyone said before the semi-final that we did not want to feel the same regret after the game as we did after the final against Wasps."
Though Toulouse scored three scorching tries through their exciting back division, Jauzion reckons their defence proved the difference against Leicester.
He said: "Our one on one defence was very good. We knew it had to be against a physical team like Leicester with their big players like Henry Tuilagi.
"We scored the first try of the game which was very important. That helped us relax and then I thought we played with a lot of passion to stop Leicester. It was a very big win for us in Leicester."
Meanwhile Irishman Trevor Brennan added: "Any English side is very tough to play against but we had enormous respect for Leicester and their record. The painful memories of last year's defeat in the final was still fresh in our minds and I think that is was inspired a few people in this game.
"It could have been very different if Leicester had taken a couple of chances early on but I thought we deserved to win in the end."
