Sir Clive Woodward has spiced up the Heineken Cup semi-final between Leicester Tigers and Toulouse by naming nine players from the those two clubs in his 44-strong British and Irish Lions tour party to New Zealand this summer.
The majority are from two-times champions Leicester, who will have six forwards and two backs on the tour. Toulouse will be represented by Welsh captain Gareth Thomas.
The Tigers who will be seeking tame the All Blacks are Graham Rowntree, Julian White, Ben Kay, Lewis Moody, Martin Corry and Neil Back. The centre Ollie Smith, adn backline speedster Geordan Murphey make up the Leicester contingent.
Back has been chosen despite his retirement from international rugby, .and Woodward made it clear that the form the backrow man showed in Leicester's Heineken Cup quarter-final demolition of Leinster was critical in his selection.
Lawrence Dallaglio, who led London Wasps to the Heineken Cup title last season, is another player who has retired the England team who has been called up for the tour .
The split of the 44 players from the four countries mean there are 20 Englishmen, 11 Irishmen, 10 Welshman and three Scots.
