After the departure of Mario Zanato to Rovigo Rugby, and the last minute decision by Allan Lewis and Benoit Leoroix to turn down the post, Conad L'Aquila Rugby have confirmed a new Head Coach.
French rugby legend Jacques Fouroux will lead the Italian side for the 2005/6 season. Nicknamed "Le Petit Caporal", Fouroux, who was the France international captain from 1975 to 1980, has won three Five Nations Tournaments as a player and another four as French Head Coach. He also guided "Les Blues" to a World Cup Final against New Zealand in Auckland in 1987.
Fouroux will be hoping to bring L'Aquila to the top of the Italian Super 10 Championship and to the business end of the European Challenge Cup. His first European test will be at home to the Border Reivers on the weekend of 21-23 October.
Jacques Fouroux will be officially introduced as Head Coach at a press conference in the next few days.
